DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES 1.1. Assists Laboratory
Manager/Assistant Manager in the day-to-day responsibilities of
laboratory analyses at a local division office. The Laboratory
Supervisor shall represent the policies, ethics, and culture of the
company in a leadership role; assists and understudies managers
through closely monitoring lab-related key performance indicators,
specifically related to turn around time and accuracy of date to
achieve or exceed budgeted requirements; supervises and coordinates
activities of personnel engaged in performing chemical and physical
tests required for quality control of processes and products by
performing the following duties. 1.2. This person in this position
will have the capabilities and authority to perform and/or offer
training to laboratory staff on standard test methods, as well as
any calibration, verification, and maintenance procedures for all
laboratory equipment and instrumentation. 2. SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES 2.1. Ensures the laboratory has adequate resources
to perform all aspects of work required. 2.2. Ensures laboratory
staff is adequately trained to safely perform all required job
functions and that competency records are maintained. 2.3. Ensures
compliance with all corporate policies and procedures in the
laboratory. 2.4. Recommends expense savings measures. 2.5.
Champions the Business Management Quality System. 2.6. Drives
laboratory performance through communication with lab staff and
management to promote empowerment and accountability. 2.7. Obtains
an in-depth knowledge of local market requirements. 2.8.
Understands customer requirements and organizes lab procedures,
schedules and staffing to provide for meeting and exceeding those
requirements. 2.9. Supports the ISO certificate(s) and assists in
the corrective/preventive actions process. 2.10. Fosters customer
confidence in Inspectorate laboratory work. 2.11. Recommends
measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and needs
for new equipment. 2.12. Reviews local laboratory analyses and
provides recommendations for the continuous improvement process.
2.13. Handles required disciplinary matters in a fair and
consistent manner and maintains open communication with the Lab
Manager and the HR department. 2.14. Represents Inspectorate by
appearance and conduct; sets a leadership example by displaying
integrity at all time; behaves ethically at all times. 2.15. As
directed, handles all disciplinary matters in a fair and consistent
manner and maintains open communication with Division Manager and
the HR department. 2.16. As required, performs the duties of Lab
Manager and/or Lab Technician. 2.17. Review laboratory analysis,
generates Certificate of Analysis, and is authorized to release and
approve data. 2.18. Establishes or adjusts work schedules to meet
testing requirements and control costs. 2.19. Carries out all
responsibilities in a supportive manner with total adherence to:
the Companys Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and
Procedures; Business Management System; Compliance and Ethics
Policies; and exercises good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.
3. SUPERVISION EXERCISED 3.1. Manages lab technicians. 3.2. Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organizations policies and applicable laws; including interviewing,
hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees,
addressing complaints and resolving problems. 4. SUPERVISION
RECEIVED 4.1. This position reports to Lab Manager. 5. EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 5.1. Prefer bachelors degree from
four-year college or university or Associates Degree or equivalent
from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of three
years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination
of education and experience. 6. CORE COMPETENCIES 6.1. To perform

establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 7. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

essential functions of this job. Depending on location site, while
performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works
near explosive material and is regularly exposed to wet and/or
humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic
chemicals, extreme cold and/or heat; possibly working in enclosed
spaces. The noise level is usually moderate.
