Job Description:

This position is responsible for all aspects of assigned unit operations, assuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory policies. This position provides leadership, coaching, resources, boundary conditions and motivation to help the area operating team successfully accomplish performance contract targets and objectives. The incumbent works with the Operations Manager to oversee plant operations and improve operational consistency.


  • Has responsibility for Asset operational performance and consistency
  • Understands how the work of the Operations Team affects the environment, sets performance objectives and provides leadership for area to minimize impact on the environment, communicates the importance of these issues to the teams, and supports the site Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Upholds Ineos Aromatics' commitment to health, safety, and security; sets performance objectives and provides leadership for area to uphold site HSSE policy; communicates the importance of these issues to teams; and supports the site local Operating Management System.
  • Facilitate development of clear Asset Team objectives/goals to support holistic plant performance
  • Works with Asset Team to manage and improve day-to-day operation of units via production meetings, Asset Team meetings, and Field presence
  • Oversees direction and strategic objectives set by Operations Manager
  • Works with the Operations Shift Leadership to ensure consistent application of COW procedures, work order prioritization, and maintenance work processes.
  • Audits use of unit control of work and energy isolation practices, plant operating procedures, normal and safe operating limits, and adherence to safety regulations
  • Develops budget for area of responsibility, tracks monthly performance against budget, updates GFO estimates.
  • Participates in mid and long-term Asset activity prioritization, as well as daily operations planning and scheduling activities, including staffing.
  • Represents Asset operations on turnarounds and capital projects. Assigns operations representatives, as necessary.
  • Oversees Management of Change (MOCs) in area of responsibility. Assures MOCs are "ready to startup" in KMS prior to change implementation.
  • Complete Essentials action items and monitor for completion of other's assigned items in area of responsibility.
  • Initiates incident investigations as required, reviews and approves action items, and assures timely completion of action items.
  • Holds unit personnel accountable for achieving asset performance objectives and conducts periodic performance appraisals
  • Review training statistics and takes corrective action when necessary to assure timely completion.
  • Intervenes with personnel performance issues as needed
  • Ensures resources are available to allow personnel to achieve objectives


    • Degree required: BS in Engineering/Applicable Technical Field or Equivalent Experience
    • Number of Years Experience Preferred for Entry: 7-10 years in plant operations
    • Number of Years Experience Required for Competency: 10+ years
    • Certifications Required: None
    • Language(s) Needed: Must have excellent communications skills in English
