Job Description:

Memorial Hermann, a leader in Texas healthcare, is seeking an experienced Pharmacist specialized in Pediatrics for our Emergency Department (ED) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This unique role offers an attractive 7-day on, 7-day off shift pattern, enabling balance between demanding work schedules and personal life. The successful candidate will provide optimal medication management and care coordination for pediatric patients, ensuring safety and efficacy while adhering to established protocols and standards. Review, prepare, and dispense medications and treatments accurately and efficiently to pediatric patients. Consult and collaborate with healthcare teams to devise the most appropriate therapeutic plans. Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage. Assist in the development and administration of medication management programs. Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions, patient interactions, and transactions according to state and federal laws. Strong knowledge of pharmacological agents used in pediatric care. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues to a non-medical audience. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Medical Insurance Life Insurance Active and clear pharmacist licensure in the state of Texas. Board Certification in Pediatric Pharmacy (BCPP) preferred but not required.
