Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work on a 42-bed medical surgical unit with 40 core staff members • Patient ratio of 6:1 • Must work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period • No on-call requirements • Work with equipment including glucometer, Welch/Allyn vital machines, hoyer lift, wound vacs, chest tubes, baxter pumps, epidural PCA, telemetry monitors, kangaroo pumps, BiPap, peg tubes, and blood warmer • Use Meditech EMR system • Perform typical procedures including assisting with PICC line placement, chest tube management, wound care, tube feedings • Initiate IV access, infuse blood products, TPN, and Heparin • May float to PostOp unit as needed • Required certification: BLS • Preferred: 2 years Med/Surg experience and ACLS certification • Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs • Must maintain positive attitude and work well with team Facility: This healthcare facility is part of a comprehensive healthcare system that provides quality medical and surgical services to the community.
