Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Engineering, the Manager of
Sustainability is responsible for improving TCCD's environmental
impact by leading research, development, and implementation of
strategies, policies, procedures, and tactics without detracting
from the College's 3 Goals and 8 Principles.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Provides oversight of TCCD's transportation and parking
programs for all district campuses and locations
- Travels from campus to campus within the district, observing
all safety regulations and participating in the ongoing
safety-training program to cover all aspects of the use of company
vehicles
- Provides oversight and administration for the vendor that
maintains TCCD's GIS property plat and utility systems mapping
- Coordinates and formalizes existing TCCD sustainability efforts
into a focused, coherent District-wide program, including promoting
and marketing TCCD's sustainability goals to internal and external
stakeholders
- Analyzes and monitors natural resource usage (including
utilities) and waste streams for all district campuses and
locations
- Researches, develops, and implements alternative mechanisms for
improved management of TCCD's raw landholdings
- Educates TCCD students, faculty, and staff on the importance of
District sustainability initiatives, including the facilitation of
the TCCD Facilities Engineering student worker program
- Pursues funding for District sustainability projects through
rebate applications, grants, and project proposals
- Creates and manages the content of TCCD's Sustainability
website
- Remains informed on new federal and state legislation impacting
TCCD Sustainability efforts
- Manages the sustainability requirements of TCC faculty, staff,
students, and visitors
- Coordinates, creates, and maintains building and room
identification for Clery Act reporting, providing reports on a
regular and timely basis to ensure health and safety
sustainability
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community
organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential
performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually,
and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the
worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development
sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching
excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service
to the College
- Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of
the College Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities
Engineering

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Five (5) years' working experience related to the Essential
Performance Requirements
- Valid Texas driver license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in the field of Architecture, Engineering,
Construction, Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a
related field
- Work experience in a professional environment
- Experience in database management
- Experience in Information Technology Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
- Knowledge of the construction process, including the various
phases of design and execution of construction, including the
ability to read and understand related documents
- Knowledge of facilities operations and maintenance
- Knowledge of business accounting and life cycle cost
analysis
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal
relationships with diverse populations, including strong listening,
verbal, and written communication
- Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems,
including the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and
a setting that is diverse and urban
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and
communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands
for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based
on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to
meet College and campus deliverables
