Job Description:

Role Profile:Process Control Engineers provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development, and implementation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry. The Process Controls Engineer works hand in hand with the Client to ensure the design is technically sound. This position requires being familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. This position reports to Process Control Lead as a member of the Paton Engineering Team.Main Duties:

  • Align with client Safety Expectations for working the Oil& Gas and Petrochemicals Facilities
  • Develop process applications for the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry
  • Ability to prepare scoping, design and commissioning documentation for DCS Systems
  • Development of DCS graphics based on P&ID's, operations and client requirements
  • Ability to monitor and update loops within a live operating system
  • Develop custom logic applications based on Client requirements
  • Develop Control Narratives to support Design activities
  • Integrate applications between DCS and PLC's using DHP and PCDI links
  • Ability to work on Client site as part of a team and independently
  • Prepare technical and status reports for the project.Role Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in chemical Engineering
    • Experience in Honeywell Experion & TDC3000 and/or Emerson DeltaV DCS systems
    • Self-Starter and able to work with minimal supervision
    • Customer Focused and ability to solve client problem.
    • Effective communications skills to enhance productivity and builds respect
    • Works well within a Team Environment
    • Strong Safety behaviors to support Paton and Client Safety Cultures
    • Convert Modbus Serial Points (QPLCArray) on HPM to Modbus SCADA Points.
    • Fix graphics references/shapes
    • Migrate Logic Blocks to CMs
    • Remove the Critical Alarm Display/Graphics from unit DCS systems.
    • IPL (independent protection layer) Shape creation and configuration to mimic NTE (not to exceed) alarm implementations.
    • Ideally, MPC to provide a list of tags impacted by this change and will cover all Units.
    • Capable of searching for DCS points associated with IPLs from LOPAs of record.
    • Implement changes to controls per MOC (ex. Low O2 override controls on fired heaters)Years of Experience:
      • 5-10 years' experience in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry
