You will provide plant process engineering support during the
commissioning and start-up phases of the project and will then
transition to supporting on-going operations once the facility is
fully started up.
Responsibilities of the position include: Commissioning and Startup
Phases
- Provide operations technical support and leadership during
construction, commissioning and initial startup of the individual
units, and the facility as a whole
- Develop Process and Equipment Condition Monitoring in order to
monitor performance at a unit and equipment level
- Assist in the development and training of site operations
personnel
- Support the development of mature and complete Operating
Procedures
Operation
- Support plant environmental, health and safety programs through
management of change, project hazard reviews, engineering support
for environmental compliance, and regular participation in safety
programs and training.
- Provide technical support during the stabilization phase to
optimize reliability and efficiency
- Monitor and review asset performance, to proactively identify
and troubleshoot operating issues.
- Identify, evaluate and implement productivity projects aimed at
improving the cost position and/or reliability of the facility.
Define work scope, generate project requests, work orders, MOCs,
etc., as required to execute these projects.
- Monitor water treatment and steam quality and work with water
treatment resources to resolve issues
- Assist in the resolution of longer-term reliability and
maintenance issues involving unusual corrosion, water and steam
quality concerns, fouling, catalyst degradation and other chronic
equipment and performance problems.
- Prepare for and support plant turnarounds, including project
execution, catalyst changeouts and investigation of inspection
discoveries.
- Provide support to other industrial gas and ammonia facilities
in the Gulf Coast region and beyond, as needed
- Travel outside of the immediate area is expected to be
approximately 10%.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering strongly preferred; other
disciplines will be considered based on experience.
- 4 - 15 years of experience with large scale industrial gas or
ammonia production in an engineering role; operations engineering
support and/or operations experience with troubleshooting
experience.
- Experience working at an operating HYCO, ASU and/or Ammonia
plant is desired
- Ability to communicate effectively to a broad audience of
varying levels of technical understanding.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and
diverse team setting.
- Self-motivated and well organized with a proven ability to
manage multiple priorities independently.
