Position Title: Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Teacher

Location: Royal STEM Academy

Reports To: Campus Principal

PRIMARY DUTY

The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) teacher is responsible for classroom instruction of the PLTW Energy and Environment - Grade 6, Automation and Robotics - Grade 7, and Design and Modeling - Grade 8. Provides an innovative and creative commitment to STEM education, and an overall passion for project, problem-based learning with real world applications. Ensures all students acquire the course level objectives set forth in the National PLTW Curriculum.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Attend necessary training (including summer)
• Prepares course objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of PLTW
• Assigns lessons, corrects homework and provides students with positive feedback and constructive criticism on assignments.
• Expand the STEM initiative at the middle school level especially reaching out to underrepresented groups
• Lead STEM related activities (ex., First Lego)
  
  QUALIFICATIONS
• A four year degree in one of the following areas: Math, Science, Physics, Industrial Technologies OR a four year degree in a field of Engineering.
