Marketing and Donor Relations - VISTA Year 1
Proyecto Juan Diego is a community-based agency in Brownsville,
Texas, on the border of Mexico. Our Vision is to Educate, Engage,
and Empower Families for the Future. Located in a growing and
dynamic area of the Rio Grande Valley, Brownsville offers a wide
variety of exposure to the Mexican-American culture, foods, and
arts.
Member Duties : The PJD VISTA will assist in securing grant funding
for the sustainability of programs. This includes research on
funding sources in and outside the region that have interest in
partnering with PJD. They can use the current platforms to create a
list of potential grant opportunities by researching and contacting
various foundations based on their funding priorities and their
relevance to PJD programs. They will be responsible for creating a
master list of previous grants and current opportunities as well as
a master yearly calendar of deadlines for submission of Letters of
Interest and full applications. They will learn strategies for
creating a successful proposal, draft and submit proposals, and
build a library of content that can be used in application
narratives in the future based on PJD programs, objectives, and
relevant demographic data from the region.
