Job Description:

Part-time medical office receptionist needed for a very busy pulmonary practice located in Texas City, Texas.Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office
  • Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information such as insurance verifications and co-pays.
  • Must be organized and be able to call and follow up scheduled appointments and verify insurance prior to next scheduled appointments.
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
  • Room patients and take vitals as needed
  • Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.
  • Field all phone calls that arrive using our general office number.
  • Respond to emails that arrive using our general office email address.
  • Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients.
  • Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately and accurately.
  • Process bills, invoices, and patient payments in office
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
  • Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering
  • Ensure that the waiting room environment remains clean and welcoming
  • Uphold the positive reputation of our medical office by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner
  • Staying in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, OSHA, HIPAA and any regulations
  • Must be organized and reliable.Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of a certificate program preferred
    • 2+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role
    • Friendly and compassionate disposition
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
    • Familiar with eClinical and Amazing Charts.Job Type: Part-timePay: From $13.00 per hourBenefits:
